Areas of specialist interest

  • Family work - promoting good parent/child relationships and in helping parents to understand their children’s behaviour
  • Separated and step families - with the experience of bringing up my own family and having step children, I am very appreciative of how difficult parenting can sometimes be for all parents, present and absent.
  • Couple relationships
  • Depression
  • I have worked for Relate in Brighton, Lewes and at HMP Ford as a Family and Couple Counsellor I am a Solihull parenting trainer and parenting group facilitator. I have run behaviour management clinics and combine this with the provision of supervision.

Experience

I have a background in nursing, sexual health, health visiting and child development.

I am an experienced couple therapist and have worked for Relate in Brighton and Lewes.

I have worked in the community within the NHS, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). This involved working therapeutically with children and families within the home environment.

At present, in addition to my private practice, I am a therapist within specialist CAMHS, working with children and young people who experience, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and self harm. Much of the work involves supporting the young person through transitions, building on their identity and confidence and helping them to understand, communicate and express their feelings more effectively.

I also work closely with parents and carers.
